Volunteer
We rely on dedicated volunteers to help us care for wildlife and support our mission. Whether you’re performing housekeeping duties, transporting rescued wildlife, or assisting with animal care, your time and skills make a real difference! We have various volunteer opportunities available and would love to have you join our team to help us save and protect wildlife!

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, reliable, responsible and have their own transportation.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping is a crucial part of our daily operations, ensuring that our facility remains clean and organized! At St. Francis Wildlife you will always find a cage that needs cleaning, a pile of laundry to be washed and folded, a floor that needs mopping or special animal diets that need to be prepared.
Transport
We rely on transport volunteers daily to pick up rescued wildlife at our veterinary partners in Tallahassee and bring them to our facility for care. Reliable transportation is required and we recommend crossovers and SUVs! Transport volunteers usually complete one shift per week, either in the morning or afternoon.
Animal Care
To help staff directly care for wildlife, we require a commitment of at least one four-hour shift per week. You will learn by reading our volunteer manual and working alongside a staff member or experienced volunteer. Our busiest time, baby season, is April through October.
Administrative
Volunteers can make a huge difference by assisting with essential administrative tasks like filing and data entry. These tasks help keep our office organized and ensure that important information is easily accessible. By supporting us with this behind-the-scenes work, volunteers free up time for our staff to focus on larger projects!
Marketing
Volunteering to help with marketing and social media is an exciting way to contribute to our mission while using your creative skills. Assist with creating content, managing social media platforms, and helping spread the word about our work to a wider audience!

Grounds
Grounds clean-up is an essential part of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the wildlife in our care. Volunteers help keep our facility clean and tidy by removing debris, maintaining pathways, and ensuring the areas are safe for both animals and visitors.
Building
Building projects and maintenance are vital to keeping our facility running smoothly and providing a safe environment for wildlife. Volunteers help maintain our facility by repairing or building outdoor cages, performing lawn cleanup, and making repairs in our hospital.
Ready to join us?
If you're interested in volunteering, we invite you to complete an application and join us for a trial day, where you'll tour our facility and be trained on basic volunteer tasks. (And yes, we’re serious—wildlife care involves a lot of cleaning!) After your shift, you can sign up on our volunteer schedule to come in as frequently as you like.
Volunteers who dedicate time consistently are first to be considered for animal care training!
